Northern Brazil
Okay, so the country as a whole isn’t exactly ideal for a vacationer on a budget, but there are enclaves of Brazil where you can get by on $40 to $60 a day. The northern portion of the country in particular has some great offerings. Manaus in particular serves as a portal to the Amazon Rainforest, and the city has plenty of interesting offerings like the Amazonas Opera House to keep you busy. If you’re willing to shill out a little extra money head over to Olina, a colonial city by the sea that is lined with picturesque churches and houses in a veritable rainbow of colors.
