Wellington Airport, New Zealand

New Zealand pays homage to their Lord of the Rings connections in the best way imaginable—with a giant Gollum statue creeping out of one of the walls attempting to grab fish and passing travelers. How cool is that? In addition, the airport is also home to the famous departure lounge called “The Rock” that’s reminiscent of being inside a large sculpture rather than an airport terminal. The angled walls intersect and are meant to symbolize and appear like the rocks that dot the coasts in New Zealand.
